Short description:
In the Kočevska forest, river stones lean into one another, holding their silence
through nothing more than balance. Equilibra translates this quiet negotiation
into timber—a functional, scalable chair that embodies a fleeting moment of
natural equilibrium and the weight of stillness. Its three sculptural legs
follow the logic of stone stacking—each distinct in geometry, yet stabilizing
one another through balance. Beneath their organic form lies an embedded
structural frame: a concealed system that anchors the modules together, while
complementary arc-shaped joints guide contact. This hybrid strategy—frame and
form in dialogue—ensures strength, stability, and ease of disassembly, enabling
flat-pack production and transport. Crafted from local European beech, the
chair’s parts are CNC-milled from solid stock to minimize waste and streamline
fabrication. A final oil-wax finish preserves the timber’s tone, protects
against wear and moisture, and keeps the warmth of the forest within the wood.
Every decision—form, joinery, finish—rests on the tension between apparent
fragility and engineered certainty. What seems precarious is, in fact, resolved.
What feels organic is also optimized for production. Equilibra is less an
object than a totem: a fragment of forest balance carried into human use. It
speaks of interdependence—between material and maker, stone and river, self and
society. To sit upon it is to rest within a balance both natural and cultural,
timeless and shared.

Short description:
Osnovni izziv počivalnika TK4 predstavlja enovita, racionalna zasnova iz karseda tanke
masivne lesene plošče (orehovina ali jesenovina, 12 mm, variantno je lahko stol
izveden tudi iz vezane plošče enake debeline). Statična logika križno
zavetrovanih plošč po eni strani zagotavlja osnovno stabilnost strukture, po
drugi pa narekuje jasno oblikovno členitev na elementarne dele stola: sedalo,
naslonjalo, noge. V tem pogledu počivalnik uteleša načelo »forma sledi
funkciji«, ki se v sodobnem oblikovalskem diskurzu povezuje z racionalnim
pristopom k ustvarjanju - estetika počivalnika izhaja neposredno iz njegove
konstrukcijske logike. Preprostost linij, jasnost stikov in naravna tekstura
lesa ustvarjajo jasno vizualno izraznost in nezamenljiv, skorajda asketski
karakter počivalnika. Šivani stiki med posameznimi elementi sledijo logiki
zasnove predvsem kot oblikovni poudarek, ki počivalnik TK4 nekoliko premakne iz
varnega območja njegove izhodiščne rudimentarnosti. Z odpiranjem vprašanj o
trajnosti, racionalni rabi virov in konstrukcijske inovativnosti počivalnik TK4
nagovarja senzibiliteto sodobnega potrošnika, ki v oblikovanju ne išče več
zgolj estetske privlačnosti, temveč tudi etično utemeljenost, okoljsko
odgovornost in dolgoročno uporabno vrednost.
