Primal chair - 2016

1st PLACE: INES ROTAR, CHAIR IN PICTURE, SLOVENIA

The chair in picture is a tribute to nature, quickly and easily transforming from a beautiful wall-mounted texture painting into a comfortable chair. It can be easily removed from the wall and folded down with a quick fold. The chair also solves the problem of smaller apartments, as it can be kept on the wall when not in use, serving as a lovely decoration.

2nd PLACE: JURADO MICHAEL, ORIGIN, FRANCE

The irregularity, lack of straight lines, simplicity—these are some key words I recall from that afternoon in the park. I wanted the user to feel exactly what I felt when I sat at the base of that tree.

A sense of tranquility despite the irregularities and unevenness of the wood, a feeling of simplicity amidst the random shapes surrounding me. "When I look at our houses, I am struck by this sequence of straight lines and curves that cannot avoid feeling artificial to me. It seems that only humanity imagines and creates straight lines. In nature, as in the universe, they do not exist."

3rd PLACE: JASNA HROVATIN IN ROK HROVATIN, PICCCHAIR, SLOVENIA

The picCHAIR serves as an additional seating option, ideal for accommodating larger numbers of people when needed. It can also function as an occasional side table beside a dining table, couch, bed, and so forth. Designed for quick disassembly and assembly, its name, picCHAIR, derives from the fact that its seat surface can be hung on the wall like a picture or decorative object. The seating surface can be treated in various ways, catering to the needs and preferences of different target groups. Moreover, it allows for fully personalized treatment based on the specific desires of the client.
